Overview

Injuries can occur anywhere on the body and from various causes, but applying a bandage when you're hurt is often challenging.

Applying a bandage with one hand is difficult because it involves multiple steps—applying ointment, opening the packaging, and securing the bandage.

Our innovative product simplifies the process, enabling you to apply both ointment and a bandage easily with just one hand.

Background

Behavior Mapping

To identify the challenges of using a bandage, I conducted behavioral mapping to observe how users apply bandages. The research revealed that it is particularly difficult to apply a bandage with one hand when hand movement is limited due to injury.

Why does such a significant price difference occur?

I conducted interviews with potential users and analyzed the responses through thematic analysis, identifying three key themes: the process of applying antiseptic to the bandage, the bandage packaging, and the ease of carrying bandages.

From each theme, I extracted and prioritized several problems. This process led to the identification of the core issues and key findings with the current bandage:

  • Users only utilize ointment and the bandage itself.

  • It is difficult to keep the bandage clean when carrying it.

  • Users desire a smoother, more efficient process for applying both the ointment and the bandage.

Why does such a significant price difference occur?

I conducted market research to understand current product trends and analyze the limitations of existing products in the market. This research aimed to help establish a unique selling point and develop a distinguishable solution that stands out in the current market.

Key findings from the market research include:

  • A lack of products simplifies the bandage application process.

  • Insufficient consideration for users who need to apply bandages when one hand is unavailable.

Problem

Through behavioral mapping, interviews, and market research, this is the problem I identified.
